How to get your resume viewed more often
Your resume isn't being looked at by recruiters? "Views: 1," even though you've been actively looking for work for days? Let's figure out what you're doing wrong.
Rule 1: Act!
Recruiters are more likely to open resumes that came to them as a response to a job, rather than those received by subscription. Send your resume to the company yourself - the likelihood that it will be reviewed increases by almost one and a half times - 46%! This is the most powerful and effective tool - it will greatly increase the number of views.
Rule 2: Specify the desired salary
According to our data, this step will allow you to get 5% more hits. Instead of a vague definition of "by arrangement," write a specific amount you'd like to earn. Employers love specifics, since the amount you specify will allow them to easily assess your qualifications, as well as how well aligned you are with the company's capabilities.
Rule 3: Fill in all CV fields
When creating or fix my resume, try to fill in all fields of the standard form, so you increase the number of views by 4%. Recruiters can get more information from a well-filled resume, which means it's potentially more interesting.
Rule 4: Be mobile
Employers are more interested in resumes of job seekers who have left a note about the willingness to travel and relocate. Marked that you are not against traveling - the number of hits will increase by 1.5%. If you indicated that you might even change your residence in search of a job - another 1.5% increase.
Rule 5: more contacts
If you're looking for a job - then be ready to quickly answer the phone, and letters, and messages on social networks. Put in your resume all possible ways to contact you, not just your phone number - and you get 1% more views. It's not much, but who knows, maybe it will decide your fate?
Don't limit recruiters on time of contact: specifying such as "Call Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 12" definitely does not contribute to a quick job placement.
So: plus 46% of views for self-responses to vacancies, and plus 13% if you specify a desired salary, fill in all the fields of the standard form, leave a note of readiness to travel and relocate (if you are ready, of course), and provide recruiters with as many contacts as possible. It's not hard, is it?
What else can you do to get your resume reviewed more often? Believe in yourself and in your abilities: send out your resume with confidence in a good result, don't hesitate to call recruiters and inquire about the vacancy. Don't hesitate, it gets you closer to your goal, too!
